Scope:
The IT Help Desk provides customer focused personal computing support for all hardware and software products for users from all locations in the Americas. This position must be able to understand and problem-solve in complex situations using a wide variety of internal and external resources. The Help Desk provides coverage from 7:30 AM till 5:30 PM by staggering Analysts’ shifts. On average for one week out of every two months, the Analyst will be on call after hours and on weekends.
Type of Position: Contract Position – 6 to 8 Month Assignment
Experience: Mid Level Desired
Education Level: 2 year technical degree or professional certification is preferred
Position Responsibilities:
· Troubleshoot and solve problems with desktop PCs, laptops, and printers
· Support all versions of Microsoft Windows and related products on networked and remote PCs
· Manage network accounts, Lotus Notes accounts, SAP accounts, VPN accounts, and voicemail accounts
· Provide support for custom and third party applications across the organization including VPN Client, SAP Client, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office, and McAfee Anti Virus
· Stay knowledgeable of best practices on installed products and integrate into environment as appropriate
· Any other duties as assigned
· May require occasional travel
Requirements and Qualifications
· 2- 5 years experience supporting desktop and laptop computers, printers, and local area networks is required
· Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team is required
· Experience supporting Microsoft operating systems in remote and networked environments is required.
· Experience supporting Microsoft Office 2007, as well as previous versions of Office, is required
· High degree of self-motivation is required
· Must have a customer focused orientation
· Must be able to work without direct supervision to ensure problems are solved quickly and professionally
· The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is required
· The ability to lift and move heavy equipment such as PCs, printers, and monitors without special assistance is required
· Experience supporting Outlook and Exchange users is highly desired
· Experience utilizing SCCM (formerly SMS) in support of customers is preferred
· Inventory management experience is preferred
· In depth knowledge of all Microsoft Office products is preferred
· Ability to handle multiple tasks
· Ability to work under pressure
