JDE Systems Analyst - Finance

Position Summary

Provides day-to-day support of JD Edwards (JDE) Financial modules (GL, AP, AR, AM, Job Costing), as well as JDE Procurement. Recommend, plan, execute, test, and document changes to the production environment.  Identify opportunities to apply functional capabilities of the system to improve business processes, operational efficiencies, and information accuracy. Research, evaluate and recommend module additions including bolt-on interfaces needed to improve the production business systems environment. Will act in the position of I.T. Team Lead on larger scale implementation projects.

Reporting Status

This position reports to the Sr. Manager Business Systems.

Supervisor Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. It is important to note though that individuals from the business as well as I.T. will be accountable to this position during the course of larger scale implementation projects.

Position Responsibilities & Accountabilities

¨       Responsible for the on-going support of the current JDE Financial Modules environment. Act as a "go-to" person for JDE Financials problem solving and troubleshooting.

¨       Team Lead for all new implementation initiatives (New projects, Mergers and Acquisitions, software upgrades, etc).

¨       Design Creation

Ø  Lead/facilitate AS-IS and TO-BE business process design sessions

Ø  Resolve issues found in Gap Analysis

Ø  Document Functional Design Specifications for development changes

Ø  Develops and documents the detail design and configuration of the business process/functional solution.

Ø  Facilitate Business Process Re-engineering

Ø  Utilize Structured Analysis and Design Techniques

¨       Construct JDE Financials configuration solutions

¨       Conduct Integration Tests

Ø  Produce Test Requirements, Test Plans, Test Scenarios

Ø  Create Test Data

Ø  Document expected results

Ø  Coordinate testing execution, obtain End-User acceptance/signoff

Ø  Resolve issues found during testing

Ø  Model for use in future Regression Tests

¨       Create, coordinate and deliver End-User Training

¨       Implementation Planning

Ø  Design Rollout Strategies (timing and sequence)

Ø  Create, execute and monitor detailed Implementation/Go-Live Plans

Ø  Provide go-live support

¨      Create and maintain User Access/Security Models for the Finance Modules user base.

¨      Support all third party bolt-on or in-house developed systems that support the business’ Finance functions.

Education and/or Experience: 

§  Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or Accounting.

§  Preferred but not required - certified CPA.

§  Proven expertise in understanding accounting principles. 3+ Years experience with internal finance department policies, procedures and operations.

§  4 - 8 years experience with full life cycle implementation and support of JDE Financial modules.

§  Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

§  Must have the ability to work with limited supervision.

§  Must be able to comfortably facilitate group discussions around business requirements definition, As-Is, To-Be application/process design, and gap resolution.

 

§  Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information to individuals or groups and respond to questions.

§  Mathematical Skills:  Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and apply basic statistical, algebraic and geometric concepts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volumes, etc.

§  Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists and interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Other Skills and Abilities

§  Leadership Skills: Position requires individual to have strong interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and empower, to be a strong communicator able to take initiative and function independently. 

§  Computer-Based:  Ability to work with complex spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.  Ability to learn new applications quickly. Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point) required. ERP systems implementation and functionality required. In-depth understanding of JD Edwards Financials. Proficient in use of SQL.
