Network Engineer
 
 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain monitor and troubleshoot Cisco network architecture including firewalls, Cisco switches, Cisco routers, VPN, wireless, and other configurations
  • Ensure network functionality across WAN at all facilities.
  • Troubleshoot telecommunication circuits while resolving outages with circuit providers.
  • Implement data and voice network architecture growth and expansion.
  • Provide technical input and direction for network management team projects.
  • Work with new hardware & software installations and upgrades on WAN and LANs in a Cisco environment; including but not limited to Routers, Switches, Firewalls, DNS, DHCP, IP Addressing, VPN, and IDS/IPS
  • Maintain PCI compliance for all network and security systems.
  • Develop and document best practices on related network processes, including local and wide area network diagrams and procedural documentation
  • Manage Antivirus/spyware and application/services monitoring systems; including but not limited to all servers, applications components, upgrades, and patches.
  • Deploy external customer access to necessary information resources; including but not limited to web hosting and remote access.

·         Negotiate contracts with third party vendors

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of hands-on network experience
  • Experience with VPN, Cisco routing protocols and switching, IP subnets, Firewalls, Cisco Unified Communications product suite, and Internet Architectures.
  • CCNP Cisco Certification strongly preferred
  • Exceptional organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work under tight deadlines, strong time-management and follow through skills
  • Communication skills must be comprehensive
  • Strong analytical skills to identify large and small impacts of network decisions
  • Must be able to prioritize troubleshooting and project tasks while demonstrating professional attitude.
  • Ability and willingness to keep confidential all information learned in daily job functions pertaining to the company and its personnel
  • Strong team interaction; works effectively with others to accomplish goals and resolve problems. Communicates effectively with team and other departments.
  • Possesses a sense of urgency and solid decision making skills; exhibits sound and accurate judgment
  • Highly flexible, motivated, energetic and proactive
  • Takes personal responsibility and ownership of their work and strives for quality outcomes and results
  • Possesses a high level of integrity and enthusiasm
