Primary Responsibilities:
This employee will work with the ADIS group to analyze business practices, study work flows and implement technology solutions for key users. The employee must be an expert in applications development and project management and will work under general supervision, undertaking complex projects requiring specialized technical knowledge.
Application development -Prepare design, technical specifications, and documentation for new applications, application enhancements, and bug fixes -Evaluate vendor software -Code, test, debug, document, and implement software applications -Design and document databases -Project management for technological and business solutions -Manage software vendors and external service providers -Coordinate activities of the project team, plan and monitor project schedules and costs, and take corrective action to stay on schedule -Cultivate and foster customer service relationship including reviewing project priorities with key users
Support -Create document, schedule, and support operational activities including database backups and recoveries. -Perform support for databases including design, maintenance, performance tuning, and assurance of database integrity -This employee is expected to lead and participate in reviews of business processes, to evaluate and recommend opportunities for improvements, and to consult in re-engineering and strengthening of business processes. - Provide off hours support
Work flow study and analysis of business practices -Perform analysis of business practices for new applications, application enhancements, and bug fixes -Develop an approach for analyzing effectiveness of key processes. -Perform analysis of and document business practices -Prepare impact assessment of process gaps not clearly defined by established standards and by exercising good business judgment. -Assess process strengths and weaknesses utilizing complex analysis techniques, including senior and operating management focused interviews, analytical procedures, transaction testing, bench marking of best practices across the business; and external research to determine optimal techniques for improving effectiveness and efficiency of business operations. -Elicit cooperation and support from key process owners. -Establish ongoing communication to share with process owners and senior management issues and improvement recommendations throughout the life of the project. -Serve as a catalyst for positive change. -Gain acceptance of process efficiencies and obtain senior management buy-in to the value of strong control systems in achievement of business objectives. -Communicate results in a formal project read-out presentation. -Influence senior management to champion process improvements and establish ownership of action plans at the appropriate point within the organization. -Prepare formal reports for senior management expressing an opinion on the quality of control systems and incorporating agreed solutions to process gaps.
